JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

The Utah County Health Department seeks to prevent avoidable disease and injury and promote health by monitoring the health of the community and assuring conditions in which people can be healthy.

POSITION:  Health Educator I – Part Time, No Benefits

*May underfill as a Health Education Technician – Part Time, No Benefits

This is a Part Time position and does not include benefits.        

Preference may be given to candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish.

The Human Resource Office will continue to consider qualified candidates as needed until the position is filled.

The Opportunity:

 Under general guidance and direction of the assigned supervisor, assists, develops, designs, monitors, coordinates, evaluates, and administers health education and prevention activities in Utah County. Performs clerical, technical, and entry-level professional work.

Starting Pay:

Health Educator I - $24.95 - $28.67

Health Education Technician - $23.27 - $26.74

Salary will be determined upon experience and or education

Job Qualifications: (Minimum Hiring Requirements)- Health Educator I:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Health, Community Health, Health Promotion, Public Health, or a closely related field.

2. Two (2) years of work experience in public health or a related field.

3. A completed, related master’s degree may be substituted for two (2) years of health education work experience.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

1. Applicants must be eligible to become a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and/or Certified in Public Health (CPH).

Job Qualifications: (Minimum Hiring Requirements)- Health Education Technician:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Community Health, Health Promotion, Public Health, or a related field.
