Guidewire Rating Developer / Architect

Role Overview

We are seeking an accomplished Guidewire Rating Developer / Architect with deep expertise in Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating and P&C insurance. The role requires strong hands-on experience in designing and implementing complex rating solutions, combined with the ability to provide technical leadership across Guidewire implementations.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating business and actuarial requirements into scalable, maintainable rating solutions and will work closely with architects, business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture and solution design for Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating capabilities.

• Design and implement complex rating models, rate books, rate tables, factors, modifiers, eligibility rules, and premium calculations.

• Analyze business and actuarial requirements and translate them into robust Guidewire Rating solutions.

• Develop and customize Gosu-based rating logic and PolicyCenter configurations.

• Design solutions for complex P&C insurance products, pricing structures, underwriting rules, discounts, surcharges, and eligibility criteria.

• Define technical approaches for rating enhancements, product changes, and regulatory/business-driven pricing changes.

• Review existing rating implementations and identify opportunities for performance optimization, scalability, and maintainability.

• Provide technical leadership for rating development teams, including design reviews, code reviews, estimation, technical guidance, and issue resolution.

• Design and review integrations between PolicyCenter Rating and external pricing, underwriting, claims, billing, and third-party systems.

• Support architecture decisions, technical documentation, solution estimation, and implementation planning.

• Troubleshoot complex rating issues across development, testing, and production environments.

• Ensure solutions adhere to Guidewire architecture principles, development standards, and P&C insurance best practices.

• Collaborate with global stakeholders and participate in client-facing technical discussions.

Required Technical Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating.

• Extensive knowledge of Guidewire Product Model and Rating architecture.

• Strong proficiency in Gosu and Guidewire configuration.

• Expertise in rate books, rate tables, rating factors, modifiers, rules, and premium calculations.

• Strong understanding of P&C insurance products, rating methodologies, underwriting, and policy lifecycle.

• Experience with Guidewire integrations, APIs, web services, and external systems.

• Strong understanding of PolicyCenter architecture and implementation patterns.

• Experience with Guidewire Cloud and cloud-based implementations is highly preferred.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor Guidewire development teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Guidewire ACE Certification in PolicyCenter / Rating.

• Experience working as a Rating Lead, Technical Lead, or Guidewire Architect.

• Experience across multiple end-to-end Guidewire PolicyCenter implementations.

• Exposure to Guidewire Cloud Platform and cloud-native architecture.

• Experience with rating modernization, migration, or integration with external rating engines.

• Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
