SUMMARY                                                                      TheGroundskeeping Supervisor ("Supervisor/a de Jardineria") will assist in the completion of the day-to-day activities, involving the maintenance/repair of the building facility, equipment, machinery including HVAC, building lighting systems, groundskeeping, plumbing, and electrical wiring, and fixtures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Mows grass, plows snow, waters lawns, feeds and trims shrubs, tends flower beds, and regularly inspects assigned work areas to ensure proper standards are maintained.
• Operates lawn and grounds equipment including power mowers, snowblowers, bucket loaders, and other power equipment.
• Repairs and maintains property walks and lots.
• Plans, plants and maintains exterior and interior landscaping in accordance with the landscaping plan.
• Removes refuse and trash from grounds.
• Enforces safety regulations at the worksite.
• Maintains a small greenhouse.
• Prepares and maintains fields.
• Adjusts, cleans, and performs minor mechanical work on grounds equipment.
• Recommends for purchase and suggests suitable locations for trees and shrubs.
• Requisitions, controls, and issues groundskeeping supplies.
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training.
• A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement.
• Experience running shifts, scheduling, performance management, problem-solving, guest servicing and running day-to-day operations.
• Experience in dealing with the public is preferred, such as retail cashier, food industry service, guest service with public contacts, etc.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
• Ability to maintain a friendly, team-oriented, positive attitude and a professional appearance at all times.
• Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
• The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
