TheApplication Services Lead role sits within Axi’s Technology department and is responsible for overseeing the delivery, support, and continuous improvement of applications that power critical business operations.

In this leadership role, you will manage a team of Application Services Engineers, ensuring application reliability, performance, and scalability across a global, high-availability environment. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to optimise application functionality, drive operational excellence, and support the delivery of new products and services.

 

Your EDGE Assignment / You Will

  • Oversee theend-to-end delivery and support of business-critical applications across the organisation.
  • Ensureeffective shift handovers across global time zones, supporting a 24/7 operational model.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop theApplication Services team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meetservice delivery and project demands.
  • Promote a culture ofcollaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure applications aremaintained, patched, upgraded, and operating efficiently.
  • Manage and supportintegrations between applications and internal/external systems.
  • Overseeincident management, ensuring timely resolution of issues, service requests, and escalations.
  • Define and manageSLAs and KPIs related to application availability, performance, and user satisfaction.
  • Driveautomation, enhancements, and optimisation initiatives to improve user experience and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure applications meetsecurity, compliance, and data governance standards.
  • Stay informed onemerging technologies and industry trends, ensuring the team is equipped to support evolving business needs.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to ensurescalable and reliable application services.

 

Are you the one?

  • Proven experience in anApplication Support / Application Services leadership role supporting business-critical systems.
  • Strong background inincident management, service delivery, and operational support within high-availability environments.
  • Preferred experience withKubernetes, CI/CD,and DevOps practices.
  • Experience managing and mentoringtechnical support or application services teams.
  • Solid understanding ofapplication lifecycle management, including patching, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Experience working withcloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar) and modern application architectures.
  • Familiarity withmonitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Zabbix, or similar).
  • Strong understanding ofSLAs, KPIs, and IT Service Management frameworks (ITIL preferred).
  • Ability to managemultiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Excellentcommunication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus oncontinuous improvement and operational excellence.
