Research the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance, Federal Register, Index of Private Foundations, GIS' Federal Funding Alert, and other publications to identify potential funding sources.
Â
Requests grant applications and other funding notices.
Â
Writes and submits grant applications.
Â
Works with public and private groups, agencies, and individuals in acquiring funding to benefit the County.
Â
Establishes programs and provides technical assistance in establishing programs.
Â
Organizes and conducts various grants-related workshops.
Â
Evaluates current county programs and services.
Â
Collects county and other applicable data for planning, programmatic, and fiscal decision-making.
Â
Prepares reports, records, and budgets on county and non-county funded program and services.
Â
Recommends modification of existing county-funded programs and services.
Grants Officer/Specialist

Prepares Requests-for-Proposals (RFPs), serves on proposal review committees, and prepares all necessary review and evaluation forms.
Â
Participates in administrative planning to insure maximum use of all possible resources.
Â
Provides management, technical, and other support to the Human Capital Development area and to the County Administrator.
Â
Performs other duties as assigned.
Â
Minimum Qualifications
Â
A Master's Degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Planning, Business Administration, or closely related field of study from an accredited college or university and three (3) years experience in writing, implementing, analyzing, monitoring, and evaluating programs;
Â
or
Â
Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Planning, Business Administration, or closely related field of study from an accredited college or university and six (6) years experience in writing, implementing, analyzing, monitoring, and evaluating programs;
Â
and
Â
Extensive experience in utilizing computers including word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics software.
