JOBDESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians (ACBCI) seeks a Grants Administrative Analyst to support financial analysis, reporting, and data management functions within the Grants Department. The Grants Administrative Analyst serves as a critical bridge between the Grants Department and the Accounting Department, ensuring that grant-related financial data is accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported. This position supports the tribeās indirect cost (IDC) recovery processes, assists with financial system entries, and provides data analysis to inform the departmentās grant strategy and performance reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are representative but not exhaustive. Other duties may be assigned.

- Perform financial reconciliation of grant award accounts, ensuring expenditures are accurately recorded and allocated in accordance with award budgets and 2 CFR Part 200 requirements.
- Prepare and process Abila financial system entries for grant-related transactions, including budget modifications, IDC allocations, and expenditure coding.
- Monitor and reconcile accounts in coordination with the Accounting Department; assist in identifying and resolving coding discrepancies.
- Support the departmentās cost recovery tracking, including monitoring accruals and assisting in the preparation of allocation reports.
- Generate and distribute monthly grant account reports, flagging budget variances, unallowable costs, or compliance concerns to the Director of Grants Management.
- Coordinate with Accounting to ensure grant award letters and close-out documentation are properly received and processed at award initiation and completion.
- Assist in preparing financial data for federal and state grant reports, ensuring figures are accurate, reconciled, and supported by documentation.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation for all active and closed grant awards in audit-ready condition.
- Analyze grant portfolio data to support the Director of Grants Management in performance tracking, ROI reporting, and strategic planning.
- Support the Euna Grants platform data integrity, ensuring financial data and award information is accurately entered and maintained.
- Assist in developing and refining financial procedures for grant account management in coordination with Accounting and the Director.

This position does not carry direct supervisory responsibility. The incumbent works collaboratively within the Grants Department under the direction of the Director of Grants Management and contributes to team-based coordination across tribal departments.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be computer literate in Microsoft 365 Co-Pilot or equivalent software. Familiarity with grants management software (e.g., Euna Grants or similar platform) preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Ā
- Bachelorās degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in financial analysis, accounting support, grants financial management, or a closely related field.
- Working knowledge of 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance) cost principles and federal grant financial requirements preferred.
- Experience with fund accounting software; familiarity with Abila MIP or similar government/nonprofit accounting systems a plus.
- Strong analytical and data management skills; demonstrated ability to identify discrepancies and reconcile financial records accurately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present financial data clearly to non-financial audiences.
- Experience working in tribal government, public sector, or nonprofit grant-funded environments preferred.
- High degree of accuracy and integrity in financial record-keeping and reporting.

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be mobile, be able to sit, use hands to type, reach, talk and hear. Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must possess a valid Driverās License. Must be able to travel in and out of Palm Springs, California area as needed.
