The Graduate Programme at Graphcore
Join Graphcore in a permanent role and start your career with two years of hands-on learning. From day one, you’ll be trusted to take ownership, share your ideas and help shape what we’re creating. You’ll tackle challenging problems alongside a team who support your development and are as excited about your success as you are.
What you’ll work onÂ
Put your coding skills to work on tools that help developers understand and improve how software runs onGraphcore hardware.Â
As a Graduate Software Engineer in the Analysis Tools Team, you’ll design, develop and test features across libraries, command-line tools and graphical applications. Your work will help users see where time, memory and hardware resources are being used, so they can optimise applications and resolve issues.Â
You’ll fix bugs and support end-users with guidance on using the tools. It’s a chance to connect software development with the hardware beneath it and see how useful profiling information helps developers get more fromGraphcore systems.Â
Your team and supportÂ
The Analysis Tools Team works close toGraphcore’s hardware and software stack. It collects profiling information, processesit and turns it into insight that developers can use.Â
You’ll learn from experienced engineers through practical engineering, regular codereviews and open technical discussions. You’ll be supported to test ideas and build confidence as you develop features and solve problems.Â
Decisions are driven by profiling data, customerneeds and team experience. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions, challenge existingapproaches and share ideas for making things better. Take responsibility for your work and speak up when you spot a problem or need support.Â
Howyou’ll learn and growÂ
During the two-year programme, you’ll build practical experience in software development, testing and performance profiling, working across libraries, command-line tools and graphical applications.Â
Hands-on debugging and code reviews will help you develop your engineering judgement: how to investigate a problem, test an approach and use feedback to improve your work.Â
Working on tools used by developers and supporting customers will help you understand their needs, explain technical findings clearly and see how your work connects to the wider hardware and software system.Â
Whatwe're looking forÂ
- Programming experience in one or more languages – preferably Rust, TypeScript - gained through study, projects, internships, placements or practical workÂ
- A logical approach to debugging, testing and solving unfamiliar problemsÂ
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, build tools, versioncontrol or collaborative software development practicesÂ
- Clear communication and a willingness to learn through feedback, ask questions and share ideasÂ
Bring an interest in TypeScript, React, Rust, C++ or other technologies used by the team, and curiosity about performance profiling, relational databases, memory management, multithreading or hardware utilisation. Youdon’t need experience with every technology we use.Â
You candemonstrate these skills through coursework, a dissertation, personal or team projects, internships, placements or other relevant experience. Tell us what you built or investigated, how you approached it and what you learned.Â
