  Job Title Temporary Grad Internwith a Work with alarge, mission-driven public agency that supports essential water, environmental, and infrastructure services for a major metropolitan region   Location San Jose, CA (Onsite)   Assignment Details Duration: 960 Hours in a fiscal year

Pay Rate: $32.27   Role Overview The Graduate Intern will support the Recycled & Purified Water Unit within the Water Supply Division at Valley Water. The position focuses on water quality monitoring, pilot testing of water treatment technologies, recycled and purified water projects, potable water reuse initiatives, regulatory support, and engineering research activities. The intern will contribute to key projects supporting the Pure Water Silicon Valley program and Reverse Osmosis (RO) Concentrate Management studies.   Key Responsibilities
  • Collect water and wastewater samples and perform field analysis using various instruments.
  • Conduct water quality data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Assist with pilot projects, technical studies, and special research initiatives.
  • Perform technical reviews and prepare engineering field reports.
  • Support Reverse Osmosis Concentrate treatment and management projects.
  • Assist with permitting activities and CEQA-related processes.
  • Support potable water reuse outreach efforts and conduct tours at the Silicon Valley Advanced Water Purification Center.
  • Coordinate inter-agency activities through Water Tracker and related initiatives.
  • Assist with QA/QC programs, database management, and reporting activities.
  Required Experience
  • Academic or practical exposure to Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Knowledge of water quality parameters and water/wastewater treatment processes.
  • Experience or coursework involving data collection, analysis, and technical reporting.
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments.
  • Valid California driver's license with a good driving record.
  Preferred Experience
  • Exposure to recycled water production and potable water reuse projects.
  • Familiarity with Reverse Osmosis (RO) treatment technologies and concentrate management.
  • Understanding of permitting and regulatory requirements related to recycled water and water reuse.
  • Experience supporting engineering feasibility studies and special research projects.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and database management.

  Education / Certifications Required
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university as a continuing student carrying at least 9 units per term, or a recent college graduate.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.

Preferred
  • Graduate-level studies in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
