Golf Services Associate

JOB SUMMARY:This position will serve as a primary point of contact for customers entering the store and will play an important role in delivering the high level of service expected from Club Champion. The position supports administrative responsibilities and light golf club service work and may be trained to conduct custom putter fittings. This position is an important part of the customer experience at Club Champion and will work closely with the Store Manager and fitting team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Greet and assist customers and walk-in visitors, ensuring a professional, welcoming, and positive customer experience.
• Determine customer needs and direct customers to the appropriate team member.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to routine customer questions.
• Make outbound customer calls regarding appointments, completed orders, club pickups, service work, and other customer follow-ups.
• Assist customers with scheduling and appointment-related questions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional customer-facing environment that reflects Club Champion’s standards of excellence.
• Provide customers with general information regarding Club Champion's fitting, equipment, and service offerings.
• Identify appropriate opportunities to introduce customers to additional Club Champion services and products.
• Complete customer club regripping accurately and professionally.
• Clean, inspect, and prepare golf clubs and related products to ensure they meet quality and presentation standards prior to customer pickup.
• Perform minor cosmetic touch-ups and basic golf club maintenance and service tasks as needed.
• Inspect completed products for presentation and cleanliness before they are returned to customers.
• Assist fitters and studio staff with routine club and equipment preparation as needed.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the club service and customer pickup areas.
• Participate in training to learn Club Champion's custom putter fitting process and an understanding of putter specifications, fitting technology, performance characteristics, and available equipment options.
• With management approval, conduct custom putter fittings for customers.
• Assist customers with putter and accessory purchases when appropriate.
• Develop the ability to identify sales opportunities while maintaining a consultative, customer-first approach.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and tracking customer orders and products.
• Maintain accurate customer and order information.
• Maintain appropriate supplies for regripping, cleaning, packaging, and customer service.
• Support the studio team during high-volume periods.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of customer service experience preferred.
• Golf knowledge or previous golf industry experience preferred.
• Previous retail, hospitality, customer service, golf shop, or administrative experience is a plus.
• Previous sales experience is helpful but not required.

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, friendly, and confident dealing with customers both in person and by telephone.
• Reliable, punctual, and highly organized.
• Comfortable working with your hands and performing light golf club service work.
• Ability and willingness to learn proper golf club regripping techniques.
• Comfortable discussing products and making appropriate recommendations to customers.
• Basic computer and administrative skills.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a busy customer-facing environment.
• Strong attention to detail.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

• This role will be predominantly indoors.
• The position works in a fast-paced, high-volume premium retail and service environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES & COORDINATION

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
• Work closely with the Store Manager and fitting team.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES 

• Ability to stand for portions of the workday.
• Ability to work with golf clubs, gripping equipment, cleaning products, and basic shop tools.
• Ability to lift and move golf bags, boxes, and equipment weighing up to approximately 40–50 pounds when necessary.
