JOB SUMMARY:

The Pelican Grill F&B team is responsible for positive guest interaction while serving food & beverages in a friendly and polite manner.

POSITION AUTHORITY:

The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.

POSITION GUIDELINES:

Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Assume 100% responsibility for quality of guest experience

· Maintain proper inventory levels of all food & beverage in holding bins, monitoring waste at all times

· Prepare food items by complying with portions size, quality standards, departmental rules, policies and procedures

· Deliver drink orders to guest out on the range

· Perform all opening and closing duties required of this position

· Responsible for safety standards, neatness, sanitation of work areas and equipment

· Help remove all trash from dining areas

· Cook all foods to proper temperature and maintain to ensure consistency of product

· Receive verbal instructions as to food & beverage requested by guests

· Knowledgeable of the beverage list and the cash register system procedures

· Conduct opening and closing liquor inventory

· Maintain stock, cutting and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to insure product quality

· Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promoting and documenting drink orders

· Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control

· Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest to maintain accountability of all food & beverage served

· Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens

Qualifications

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

· Prior Bartender, Barback and cooking experience preferred but not required

· Ability to obtain TABC & Food Handlers Certification prior to beginning work

· Have a valid license to drive beverage cart

REQUIRED SKILLS:

· Must be reliable and responsible

· Ability to exhibit maturity in the workplace and have a cooperative attitude

· Must have strong communication skills

· Ability to work a computer

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to perform tasks that include reaching, bending, and stooping

· Ability to remain standing for long periods of time

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

· Ability to work outside delivering drinks often
