Junior Modeling and Simulation Engineer

We are searching for a talented software engineer to join our Modeling and Simulation (M&S) development team in support of an AFRL mission at Eglin AFB. We are looking for a junior engineer to closely work with customers and a diverse team of software engineers and analysts to explore and develop solutions in support of AFRL. The candidate will be expected to develop AFSIM models, scenarios and capabilities for our customers, and provide onsite support as needed. While performing testing and verification, modern Agile software development practices is expected to be used. We are focused on finding innovative, self-starters who can adapt to a fast-paced, high-profile development effort.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year C++, C#, Python, or Java development experience
• Minimum of 1 year software development experience or modeling, simulation and analysis.
• Experience using source control and CI/CD tools such as git, Bitbucket, Gitlab, Jenkins, Gitlab runners, etc.

• Experience using
• Experience following agile development processes
• Experience working with modeling and simulation tools such as AFSIM, NGTS, and ITASE
• Experience with virtual machine and container management platforms such as WSL2 and Docker
• Experience applying object-oriented design patterns within software applications
• Experience with integrated development environments such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, PyCharm, etc.
• Familiarity with DoD security practices
