  • Develop accurate glazing details for curtain wall, window wall, storefront, entrances and other architectural glazing systems
  • Coordinate glazing designs with architectural, structural and other building envelope components
  • Review project-specific requirements and ensure drawings comply with approved specifications, design intent and applicable standards
  • Incorporate engineering requirements, consultant comments, field conditions and project changes into drawings
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Estimators, Engineers, Site Supervisors and field teams to resolve design and constructability issues
  • Participate in drawing reviews and identify potential design conflicts, discrepancies and coordination issues before fabrication and installation

  • Provide technical support to fabrication and field teams during project execution
  • Assist with project handoffs and ensure design information is communicated accurately to project and production teams
  • Maintain organized drawing files, revisions and project documentation
  • Support and provide technical guidance to junior designers and drafting team members as required
  • Manage multiple projects and drawing deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

What You Bring to the Team

  • Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, Drafting, Building Science or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in commercial glazing design and drafting, preferably within complex building envelope projects
  • Strong knowledge of commercial glazing systems, including curtain wall, window wall, storefront, entrances and architectural glass systems
  • Demonstrated experience independently preparing and reviewing shop drawings, fabrication drawings and detailed construction drawings for commercial glazing projects
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit or other BIM/design software is considered an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret complex architectural, structural and engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of glazing details, system interfaces, tolerances, fabrication requirements and constructability
  • Experience coordinating designs with Project Managers, Engineers, Consultants, Suppliers and field teams
  • Ability to identify design conflicts, technical issues and constructability concerns and develop practical solutions
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to drawing accuracy and quality
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to independently manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience reviewing the work of the drafting team and providing technical guidance
