Moxy Richmond Downtown is looking for its next General Manager, (aka Moxy's Captain)! We’re seeking a visible, hands-on leader who connects with guests, inspires the crew, and turns creative ideas into strong results.

You’ll lead a hotel where hospitality is social, service has personality, and the details matter. From the welcome at check-in to the energy in the lobby and bar, you’ll create experiences guests remember and a workplace where associates feel supported and motivated.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

• Culture and Crew: Lead the whole Crew. Recruit, train, coach, and recognize your team, and create a place where people want to work and stay.
• The Moxy experience: Deliver the brand’s signature touches, from check-in at Bar Moxy to a lively lobby, while making sure Moxy brand standards and service programs are executed every day.
• Bar Moxy and food & beverage: Oversee the bar and grab-and-go operation so they’re social, profitable, and fully compliant.
• Financial performance: Own the P&L. Build and manage budgets, drive revenue, control costs, and hit financial targets.
• Revenue and sales: Partner on pricing, sales, and marketing strategy to grow market share and attract guests and locals.
• Guest satisfaction: Keep guest scores high, respond quickly to feedback, and resolve issues with style.
• Community and partnerships: Build relationships with local businesses, artists, and partners to bring Richmond into the hotel.
• Safety and compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, safety procedures, and all federal, state, and local regulations, including alcohol service laws.
• Strategy: Work with corporate leadership on strategic initiatives, analyze performance, and find ways to keep getting better.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• A positive, approachable leader who coaches, builds trust, and helps others succeed
• 5+ years of progressive hotel operations experience, including 2 years as a GM or 3 years as an AGM or equivalent multi-department leader
• Proven success improving guest satisfaction, team engagement, and financial results
• Marriott brand experience strongly preferred; Moxy or lifestyle hotel experience a plus
• Experience overseeing rooms and food and beverage operations, including bar service
• Strong financial and revenue skills: budgeting, forecasting, P&L, labor and cost control, and key metrics (STR, RevPAR, ADR, occupancy)
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable with property management systems, financial reporting tools, and Microsoft Office
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with consistent on-property presence; able to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
