General Ledger Senior Accountant

Asa General LedgerSenior Accountant supporting efforts for ourbrick-and-mortar schools, you will support the following areas:  

• Support all general ledger tasks including monthly close and journal entries for multiple legalentities  

• Perform monthly reconciliations for multiple legal entities of sub ledgers/calculated schedules against general ledger and assess for reasonableness of endingbalances  

• Lead revenue and deferred revenue reconciliations and analysis  

• Perform variance analyses for financial statements and explain fluctuations from month to month, year over year, and against plan  

• Ensurethe accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the generalledger 

• Identifypossible efficiencies in existing processes and proposesolutions  

• Support variousAccountingprojects  

• Oversee the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and resolvediscrepancies 

• Assist with training juniorstaff  

• Ability to analyze andvalidate financialstatements  

• Other duties asassigned  

 About You

• 3-5 years of accounting experience. Public accounting experience or corporate accounting experience in a large company stronglypreferred  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field  

• CPA or CPA candidatepreferred  

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP  

• Knowledge of andproficiency in an ERP system  

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – ability to communicate with alllevels  

• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build relationships with alllevels  

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy  

• Ability to perform highly detailed work under tight deadlines and handle competingpriorities  

• Demonstrated history of problem solving  

• Superb ability toidentify, analyze, and resolve accounting and systemissues  

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

The annual starting salary for this position is between $80,000 – $85,000 annually.  Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
