We are specifically looking for candidates who are:
- Strong inGCP, SQL, Python
- Experienced inTeradata and SAS
- Hands-on with buildingframeworks from scratch
- Experienced in leading/startingmigration projects
We are seeking a Senior GCP Lead with strong hands-on experience and the ability to drive end-to-end data migration and engineering initiatives. This role requires excellent technical depth in GCP, SQL, Python, along with working knowledge of Teradata and SAS. The ideal candidate must have experience building data frameworks from scratch and leading migration projects in an enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and design data engineering solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Build scalable frameworks and platforms for data ingestion, transformation, and processing.
- Architect and implement migration projects from scratch, preferably from Teradata/SAS to GCP.
- Develop high-performance Python modules and write complex SQL queries.
- Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and align technical solutions.
- Ensure coding standards, best practices, performance optimization, and security compliance.
- Provide technical guidance, mentor junior team members, and perform code reviews.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on proficiency in GCP services (Big Query, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Composer, Pub/Sub, etc.).
- Advanced SQL skills with ability to write complex queries and optimize performance.
- Python expertise in data engineering, ETL frameworks, automation, and scripting.
- Experience with Teradata and SAS in migration or integration scenarios.
- Proven experience designing frameworks and starting migration projects from scratch.
- Excellent understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT patterns, and cloud architectural principles.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Must be GCP Certified (Professional Data Engineer or Architect preferred).
