GBCC Student Worker - Heron's Nest

Must maintain enrollment for a minimum of six credit hours per semester.

SCOPE OF WORK:Provides general support to academic and administrative departments at Great Bay Community College. This position shall report to the Director of Student Life at GBCC.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Performs a variety of clerical, customer service and program support tasks based on departmental requirements.
• Under the direction of the Director, picks up, loads and unloads food donations for the Heron’s Nest.
• Assists in stocking shelves and placing donating goods in appropriate receptacles.
• Provides administrative support to office staff, including help with routine tasks and special projects as assigned.
• Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Academic Status:Must maintain enrollment for a minimum of six credit hours per semester.

Education:High School diploma or equivalent credential.

Experience:No experience required.

Job Requirements:must be able to lift up to 25 pounds individually or up to 40 pounds with assistance.

License/Certification:Valid Driver's license required.

Compensation:Maximum of 15 hours per week at $14 per hour.

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of proper English usage and grammar. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to learn assigned administrative tasks readily and to adhere to prescribed departmental procedures. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and students. Possess professional phone and customer service skills. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college’s appointing authority.
