We are seeking an experienced QC Inspector to join the team!
The QC Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that products meet established quality standards before reaching our customers, with a primary focus on dimensional inspection using FARO portable CMM equipment (arm and/or laser tracker). This role involves performing precision measurement and inspection at various stages of production, identifying defects and dimensional non-conformities, and ensuring compliance with company specifications, engineering drawings, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on FARO experience, strong GD&T knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Perform precision dimensional inspections using the FARO Arm/FARO Laser Tracker and associated software (e.g., PolyWorks, FARO CAM2, Verisurf) to verify parts against CAD models and engineering drawingsÂ
Develop, run, and maintain FARO inspection routines/programs for first article inspection (FAI), in-process checks, and final part verificationÂ
Generate and interpret dimensional inspection reports, deviation reports, and point-cloud/color-map comparisons to CADÂ
Perform inspections on raw materials, in-process items, and finished products to ensure they meet quality and safety standardsÂ
Use conventional measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to supplement FARO measurements and verify product dimensions and specificationsÂ
Conduct visual inspections to identify defects such as cracks, deformations, or surface imperfectionsÂ
Read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) on technical drawings to establish inspection criteria and datum structuresÂ
Document and report inspection results, including any non-conformities, in accordance with company proceduresÂ
Work closely with engineering and production teams to address quality issues, investigate root cause, and implement corrective actions based on FARO dataÂ
Maintain and calibrate FARO equipment, ensuring certification schedules are metÂ
Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare quality reports, including First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR/AS9102 if applicable)Â
Ensure compliance with ISO or other quality standards applicable to the industryÂ
Support internal and external audits as needed, including providing FARO-generated dimensional dataÂ
Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor, lead person, or managementÂ
QualificationsÂ
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in quality control, metrology, or CMM/FARO operation strongly preferredÂ
1-3+ years of hands-on experience operating a FARO Arm or FARO Laser Tracker requiredÂ
3-5 years of experience in quality control or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environmentÂ
SkillsÂ
Proficient in FARO hardware operation and associated inspection/reporting software (e.g., PolyWorks, CAM2, Verisurf, or similar metrology software)Â
Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to build inspection plans from engineering drawings/CAD modelsÂ
Proficient in using conventional inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges)Â
Strong knowledge of quality control standards and techniques (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc. as applicable)Â
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and 3D CAD modelsÂ
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skillsÂ
Proficient in MS Office and quality management software; experience with SPC or CMM data software a plusÂ
