Full-Stack Java Developer

PGS Worldwide is seeking aFull-Stack Java Developer in Andover, Massachusetts or Tucson, Arizona for an approximately six-month hybrid contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will design, develop, test, and maintain mission-critical web applications using Java, Spring Boot, ReactJS, RESTful APIs, relational databases, and modern DevSecOps practices.

Required Skills

• 5–10 years of professional full-stack software development experience.
• Strong experience withJava and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience withReactJS.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Experience designing and developingRESTful APIs.
• Experience developing secure web applications.
• Proficiency withJavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with modern front-end technologies such as Redux or Next.js.
• Experience with relational databases such asMySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Experience with Git-based source control.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and automated software-delivery pipelines.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across front-end and back-end application layers.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-documented software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting DoD, aerospace, or defense software environments.
• Experience withDocker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines.
• Experience with secure coding practices and cybersecurity requirements.
• Experience integrating applications with identity-management technologies such asOAuth2 or SAML.
• Experience modernizing or migrating legacy applications to modern web architectures.
• Experience working with secure facilities or sensitive defense-related systems.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and ReactJS.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs.
• Develop secure communication between front-end and back-end application components.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, systems engineers, database administrators, and other software engineers.
• Participate in code reviews, integration testing, and deployment activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues across the application stack.
• Support application reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Assist with migration of legacy applications to modern web-based architectures.
• Maintain compliance with applicable coding, documentation, cybersecurity, and program standards.
• Support CI/CD and DevSecOps activities.
• Collaborate with distributed technical teams across multiple locations and time zones.

Pay

• $72.47 per hour.
• All hours paid at the standard hourly rate.
