Full Stack Developer Lead
- The Full Stack Lead Developer owns the end-to-end technical delivery of full stack products built on modern web frameworks and the ServiceNow platform. This is a hands-on leadership role — equal parts architect, senior engineer, and team lead — responsible for setting code quality standards, guiding solution design, mentoring developers, and partnering with product owners to ship clean, scalable, and reusable software. The role operates across US PST–India overlapping hours and demands a self-driven engineer who leads by example.
- 12 – 15 years - Total professional software development experience
- 10+ years -Full stack development — back-end & front-end delivery
- 4+ years: ServiceNow platform development (or equivalent self-led ramp)
- Technical leadership & architecture
- Define and enforce software engineering architecture, design patterns, and coding standards across all full stack workstreams
- Lead solution design sessions and architecture reviews for new products, features, and platform integrations
- Drive code review culture — ensuring adherence to best practices around clean code, unit testing, reusability, and performance
- Mentor and upskill a team of full stack developers through structured reviews, pairing, and knowledge-sharing sessions
- Own the technical roadmap including framework upgrades, tooling decisions, and emerging web technology adoption
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical blockers, cross-team dependencies, and production issues
- Foster a self-starter culture — model continuous learning, especially around ServiceNow platform capabilities
- Back-end development
- Architect and deliver robust, scalable back-end services using NodeJS or Java (or equivalent OO language)
- Design and optimise RESTful and GraphQL APIs for consumption by front-end and third-party integrations
- Govern relational database design and query optimisation across PostgreSQL and MySQL
- Lead development of web services in JavaScript for API exposure; define API contracts and versioning standards
- Ensure back-end services meet performance, security, and scalability requirements through design and load considerations
- Front-end development
- Lead the development of responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces using ReactJS, VueJS, or AngularJS
- Champion componentisation and reusability standards across the front-end codebase
- Govern front-end technology choices including AJAX, JSON, HTML, XML, Bootstrap, and CSS frameworks
- Own UI architecture decisions for web and mobile applications, ensuring consistency across devices and browsers
- Drive JavaScript quality standards and promote modern ES patterns, testing, and build tooling across the team
- ServiceNow platform development
- Lead design and development of Portal and Mobile applications on the ServiceNow platform using Service Portal and Seismic frameworks
- Own advanced scripting of Business Rules, UI Policies, Client Scripts, ACLs, and Workflow Activities
- Develop features within client instances using XML, workflows, JSON, SQL, and related Now Platform tools
- Lead rollout of new ServiceNow applications and enhancements, including stakeholder readiness and post-deployment support
- Define integration architecture between ServiceNow and external systems; own web service and API development on the platform
- Actively stay current on Now Platform releases, new capabilities, and developer best practices
- Delivery & product collaboration
- Partner with product owners to translate detailed requirements into well-scoped technical designs and delivery plans
- Own code from design through implementation, test automation, and production release — end to end
- Contribute to and lead design and implementation of new products while enhancing the existing suite
- Drive quality gates including unit testing standards, peer review processes, and CI/CD pipeline integration
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across engineering, QE, and product teams spanning US and India time zones
- Standards, performance & open source
- Champion engineering best practices around data structures, algorithms, OO design, and performance at scale
- Govern usage of open source technologies including Linux, Apache/Tomcat, and MySQL within the stack
- Ensure security, maintainability, and operational readiness of all services through design and code review standards
