Lead Software Engineer - Java with Spring Boot

Responsibilities

• Engineer enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot
• Define and implement microservices solutions deployed on cloud platforms
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs to connect backend services with frontend applications
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions
• Run code reviews and provide hands-on technical guidance to engineering team members
• Drive architectural decisions to ensure quality, security, reliability and compliance
• Embed Agile and DevOps best practices into the software development lifecycle
• Oversee CI/CD pipelines and support continuous delivery processes
• Debug and resolve complex issues across the application stack
• Operate services using containerization and orchestration tools for deployment and management

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience (5+ years) in designing and developing using Java 21, Quarkus and Java/JEE
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Security and JUnit
• Practical knowledge of Oracle, Sybase and PL/SQL within relational databases
• Background delivering microservices architecture on Azure Cloud and Serverless
• Working proficiency with Kubernetes, including pods, containers, services and Istio
• Experience with Docker and Redis for development and runtime needs
• Ability to design RESTful APIs and integrate backend services with frontend applications
• Familiarity with Git/GitLab CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field

Nice to have

• Understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and React (including Hooks)
• Familiarity with JavaScript and TypeScript
• Experience in performance tuning and DevOps
• Ability to implement UX designs into responsive, scalable and maintainable UI solutions following industry standards and patterns
