Lead Software Engineer - Java with Spring Boot

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot
• Design and implement microservices architectures running on cloud platforms
• Create and integrate RESTful APIs that connect backend services to frontend applications
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that scale and stay maintainable
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical leadership for engineering team members
• Drive architectural decisions aligned with quality, security, reliability and compliance standards
• Follow Agile and DevOps practices throughout the software development lifecycle
• Own CI/CD pipelines and support continuous delivery processes
• Diagnose and fix complex technical problems across the application stack
• Use containerization and orchestration tools to deploy and manage services

Requirements

• Proven professional experience (5+ years) in software design and development with Java 21, Quarkus and Java/JEE
• Deep expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Security and JUnit testing
• Solid understanding of relational databases, including Oracle, Sybase and PL/SQL
• Strong background in microservices architecture with exposure to Azure Cloud and Serverless
• Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes concepts such as pods, containers, services and Istio
• Experience working with Docker and Redis in production environments
• Demonstrated ability to create RESTful APIs and integrate backend with frontend layers
• Familiarity with Git/GitLab CI/CD pipelines and Agile ways of working
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a closely related discipline

Nice to have

• Understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and React (including Hooks) for UI work
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript
• Exposure to performance tuning and DevOps
• Ability to implement UX designs into responsive, scalable and maintainable UI solutions using common standards and patterns
