Please note: We are hiring for this position on projects for the Central Kootenays in Castlegar, Nelson, and Trail.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches todetermine installation specifications.
- Prepare layouts in conformance to internal drawings using measuring tools.
- Knowledge of wallboard installation.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of steel.
- Safely use various power tools including, but not limited to, drills and saws.
- Work collaboratively between departments to ensure efficiency in the build process.
- Take direction fromLead Hands and Foreman on tasks to be completed.
- Ensure attention to detail tomaintain quality of work.
- Perform well under a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision.
- Champion General Contractor and RWC safety guidelines and regulations.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Capable of lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.
- Creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Experienceoperating and working around construction equipment.
- Trade school certificationis considered an asset.
