About the Role
A fast-growing behavioral health technology company is looking for its first GTM hire to lead practice partnerships from the ground up. The company handles front and back office operations for independent group therapy practices, covering intake, matching, benefits verification, billing, and payroll, so practice owners can stay focused on clinical care. The immediate goal is to bring on 50 to 60 group practices over the next 10 months, and this person owns that number entirely.
The ideal candidate is a relationship-first operator who already knows the world of group therapy practice ownership from the inside. You speak the language of practice owners fluently, you have a real network to activate on day one, and you are energized by working without a playbook. A background in EHR or practice-management technology (such as SimplePractice, TherapyNotes, TheraNest, Jane, Healthie, or Ensora) or a group-facing role at a behavioral health platform is a strong fit, as is a clinical or therapist-adjacent background with deep tenure inside a large practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner directly with the CEO to sign new group therapy practices, targeting roughly five new partnerships per month across a 10-month window
- Activate your existing network of group practice owners through LinkedIn outreach, email, and direct relationship-led engagement, moving owners through a focused 2 to 3 week sales cycle with 1 to 2 decision makers
- Build trust inside practice-owner communities, attend and present at conferences and roundtables, and plan and host your own events (including owner gatherings of 15 or more attendees) to fill and warm the pipeline
- Consult practice owners on how modern front and back office automation can let them stay independent and focus on clinical work, without positioning this as a traditional technology sale
- Own and maintain pipeline hygiene inside the existing CRM (Attio) and outreach stack, improving conversion where it is meaningful and avoiding unnecessary rebuilds
- Operate as a true founding operator: run the full GTM motion independently, iterate quickly, and as the company scales, help recruit and build out the broader GTM team
Required Skills & Experience
- 4 to 8 years of experience as a GTM operator or partnerships lead, with at least 4 years specifically selling to, partnering with, or growing independent group therapy or behavioral health practices
- Demonstrated ability to speak the language of therapy practice owners and discuss practice operations credibly, including billing, staffing, intake, and payer relationships
- Existing trusted relationships (a real, activatable network) with group practice owners, ideally at practices with 6 or more clinicians and approximately $1M or more in annual revenue
- Comfort owning a revenue target independently, without hand-holding, and operating in an early-stage environment with limited infrastructure
- Ability to be based on-site in New York City (relocation support is available); must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship (US citizen or Green Card holder)
Preferred Skills
- Background at an EHR or practice-management technology company such as SimplePractice, TherapyNotes, TheraNest, Jane, Healthie, or Ensora
- Experience in a group-practice-facing partnerships or growth role at a behavioral health platform (for example Headway, Alma, Grow Therapy, SonderMind, or Rula)
- Clinical or therapist-adjacent background, including experience as a therapist, dietitian, or long-term employee inside a large group practice
- Demonstrated experience planning and hosting community events that drive pipeline and relationship depth
- Interest in and readiness to eventually hire, develop, and lead a GTM team as the company grows
