# About PocketPocket (YC W26) is building the future of how people capture, remember, and interact with information.We're one of the fastest-growing hardware startups to come out of Y Combinator, with hundreds of thousands of devices already in the hands of customers around the world.We're a small, ambitious team based in San Francisco, building at the intersection of AI, consumer hardware, and software.We're looking for a **Founding Content Creator** to bring the story of building Pocket to life.### About the RoleWe're looking for a creative storyteller who loves filming, writing, and creating content that people genuinely want to watch, read, and share.You'll be embedded in the day-to-day life of Pocket, capturing what it's really like to build and scale a fast-growing technology company.From product development and team discussions to major milestones, unexpected challenges, and everyday moments — your job is to find the stories worth telling and turn them into engaging content.You'll create short-form videos, behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, and compelling social media posts across Pocket's company channels and our founders' personal accounts.**This is not a traditional social media management role.**We want someone who creates, not just coordinates. Someone who picks up a camera, asks interesting questions, spots opportunities, and turns raw moments into content.You'll have the creative freedom to experiment with formats, develop original ideas, and help define how the world sees Pocket.### What You'll Own**Video Content & Production*** Film and produce engaging short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms.* Capture behind-the-scenes moments from the everyday life of Pocket.* Create content around product development, launches, team culture, milestones, and challenges.* Interview founders, engineers, designers, and other team members.* Independently handle filming, editing, and publishing.* Experiment with creative formats, hooks, and storytelling techniques to maximize organic reach.**Storytelling & Social Content*** Turn real company moments, conversations, and experiences into compelling stories.* Write engaging posts for Pocket's LinkedIn and X accounts.* Support founders and team members in building their personal brands through authentic content.* Develop original content ideas that make people excited to follow Pocket's journey.* Find creative ways to make complex technology and business topics interesting and accessible.**Content Strategy & Growth*** Own and maintain a consistent content calendar across relevant social channels.* Identify emerging trends, formats, and opportunities for viral content.* Repurpose content across platforms to maximize reach.* Track performance, understand what resonates, and continuously improve.* Build a recognizable and authentic content style for Pocket.* Help grow an engaged community around our company, product, and people.### What We're Looking For* A natural storyteller with exceptional creative instincts.* Proven experience creating engaging organic content, especially short-form video.* Comfortable filming, editing, writing, and publishing independently.* Strong writing skills and the ability to create compelling social media posts.* Deep understanding of internet culture, social platforms, and what makes content spread.* Someone who genuinely enjoys being behind the camera, talking to people, and capturing spontaneous moments.* Highly proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working with minimal direction.* Ability to turn everyday situations into interesting stories.* Genuine curiosity about technology, AI, startups, and the people building them.* Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate.**Bonus Points*** You've built your own audience or successfully grown social accounts organically.* You've created videos with hundreds of thousands or millions of organic views.* You've worked with startups, technology companies, or content creators.* You have experience with documentary-style storytelling, filmmaking, or journalism.* You're comfortable appearing on camera when it makes the content better.### What Success Looks Like**In your first 90 days:*** Establish a consistent flow of high-quality video and written content.* Build relationships across the team and become part of Pocket's everyday life.* Develop repeatable processes for capturing, creating, and publishing content.* Experiment with multiple content formats and identify what resonates.* Establish a recognizable voice and storytelling style across our social channels.**Long-term:*** Make Pocket one of the most interesting startups to follow online.* Build an engaged audience that follows the journey of building Pocket.* Consistently create content that reaches new audiences organically.* Turn Pocket's people, culture, product, and story into a meaningful competitive advantage for our brand.* Make content creation a natural part of how Pocket operates.### Why Join Pocket?* **Front-row seat:** Document the journey of building one of the fastest-growing AI hardware startups.* **Creative freedom:** Own content creation from idea to execution, with room to experiment.* **Real stories:** Work directly with founders, engineers, designers, and operators building something ambitious.* **High ownership:** Be the first dedicated content creator and shape our content strategy from the ground up.* **Massive opportunity:** Help millions of people discover Pocket and follow our journey.**We don't want someone who just posts on social media.
