The Floor Manager is responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and exceptional patient care. This position oversees all activities on the clinic floor, ensuring staff coordination, operational efficiency, patient satisfaction, and adherence to health and safety protocols. The Floor Manager works closely with clinical, administrative, and support teams to maintain a positive, safe, and organized environment for both patients and staff. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise nursing and support staff on the clinic floor.
  • Ensure staff adhere to scheduling and clinic protocols.
  • Manage shift coverage, breaks, and daily staff assignments.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and discipline when necessary to improve performance and patient interactions.
  • Oversee the accurate recording of work hours for all clinic floor staff. Review and approve time sheets to ensure compliance with attendance and overtime policies.
  • Work closely with central operations and HR to ensure staff is current in terms of compliance with licensure, certification, and credentialing.
  • Monitor patient check-ins, appointments, and wait times to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Address and resolve patient concerns or complaints in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the coordination of patient services and assist with triage as needed.
  • Identify and implement workflow improvements to increase operational efficiency.
  • Ensure the clinic floor is well-organized, clean, and equipped with necessary supplies.
  • Support scheduling efforts by adjusting daily operations as needed to accommodate high patient volumes.
  • Ensure the clinic complies with Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and Joint Commission standards and regulations, addressing any deficiencies as needed.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings and ensure clear communication between departments.
  • Collaborate with medical providers, nurses, and other staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Assist in training and onboarding new staff members.
  • Prepare regular reports on clinic floor operations, including patient flow, staff performance, and compliance metrics.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and staff information, in accordance with HIPAA and internal policies.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred).
Certification:Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
Language: English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Travel: Some; valid Texas drivers license and current auto insurance required; must have reliable and safe transportation
Hours of Work: 8am-5pm M-F with rotating weekend/evening work.

 

Knowledge/Skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic office software.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
  • Experience in community health, outpatient care, or primary care settings.
  • Familiarity with medical billing and coding
