Job Description:

The Revenue Cycle Supervisor oversees all processes and procedures related to prebilling, coding, claim submission, payer follow-up, payment integrity, denial resolution, cash posting etc.; and assists management with reports related to RCM. Works with Revenue Cycle Manager to ensure medical billing operations are performed in an accurate and timely manner. This role involves managing a team, resolving complex billing issues, and implementing strategies to optimize the revenue cycle process.

This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week on-site, with the remaining days worked remotely, subject to business needs.



Essential Functions


  • Ensures that all front-end billing and back-end billing processes and procedures comply with Federal, State and payer regulations, guidelines and requirements and ensures that the activities of the billing operations are conducted in a manner that is consistent with overall department protocol. 
  • Assists Revenue Cycle Manager with day-to-day operations of the billing department; encompassing hiring, training, medical coding, charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up, and reimbursement management. 
  • Participates in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures that align with organizational goals for performance and deadlines aligned to vision and mission and communicates them to subordinates. 
  • Gathers and analyzes data to report metrics such as Coding and Billing accuracy, Net and Gross AR days, Aging, DSO; etc. and works with the Revenue Cycle Manager to come up with ways to streamline processes and maximize revenue. 
  • Assists the Revenue Cycle Manager with the No Surprises Act IDR process. 
  • Researches and resolves accounts appearing on delinquent insurance report, collection ledger and government payor report as directed by management 
  • All assigned tasks that may be created or affiliated with this position

Minimum Qualifications


  • High School graduate or equivalent 
  • Demonstrated experience in medical billing or medical insurance 
  • Two years' experience managing or leading teams or projects 

Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent 
  • Knowledge of ambulance billing 

Physical Requirements


  • Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. 
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, and be able to assess customer needs. 
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc. 
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$29.58 - $45.66
