Job Description:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing transportation and logistics operations to ensure the efficient movement of products and materials. This role supports daily logistics activities, including scheduling shipments, monitoring transportation performance and coordinating with carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. The Logistics Coordinator ensures timely deliveries, resolves transportation issues, and helps drive supply chain efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment while maintaining strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation Planning & Optimization

  • Coordinate and schedule daily shipments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products and materials.

  • Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), tracking tools, and logistics software to optimize shipment planning and execution.

  • Analyze transportation performance, identify inefficiencies, and recommend process improvements to reduce costs and improve service levels.

Logistics Operations

  • Monitor shipments and transportation activities to ensure on-time delivery and operational effectiveness.

  • Maintain accurate shipment records, transportation documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and customer requirements.

  • Coordinate with carriers, vendors and internal departments to support smooth logistics operations.

Coordination & Problem Resolution

  • Proactively identify and resolve transportation, delivery, and operational issues.

  • Manage shipment exceptions, delays, and service disruptions while minimizing impact on customers and operations.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Communication & Reporting

  • Provide regular updates on shipment status, delivery schedules, and transportation performance to internal stakeholders.

  • Communicate effectively with carriers, suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and issue resolution.

  • Prepare and maintain logistics reports and operational summaries.

  • Support management with data analysis and recommendations for process improvements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in logistics.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and transportation or logistics management systems.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in transportation, freight, supply chain, or distribution operations.

  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and logistics best practices.

  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS),  or shipment tracking platforms.

  • Proven ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Pay 23$ hourly
