About the opportunity

Dripping Springs Racquet Club (DSRC) is seeking an experienced fitness professional to build an engaging, racquet-sport-focused coaching program. This opportunity is ideal for an entrepreneurial instructor who enjoys one-on-one training, small-group strength instruction and yoga-inspired mobility work, and who can build lasting relationships with not only fitness program participants but also tennis, pickleball and padel players of varied ages and abilities. All DSRC staff must authorize and complete a comprehensive background check prior to being brought on board.

Position overview

The Fitness & Wellness Program Director develops and personally delivers approved fitness services in coordination with the Director of Business & Operations, who oversees program strategy, budgets, pricing, facility use and business approvals. The role collaborates with the Director of Racquets on sport-specific needs but does not include supervision of club employees or general club management.

What you will do

·      Deliver individualized 50-minute private training focused on strength, balance, stability, footwork, rotational control and conditioning, particularly for racquet-sport participants but not limited to those players.

·      Lead 45-minute yoga-inspired mobility classes emphasizing flexibility, balance, breath, movement quality and recovery; yoga-specific instruction requires appropriate credentials.

·      Lead 45-minute small-group strength classes using safe resistance training, core stability and functional movement; initial class capacity is up to eight participants.

·      Offer approved semi-private training for two to four participants, adapting sessions to participant needs and ability.

·      Build your own client pipeline through clientele brought to our location with you, relationships, referrals and appropriate outreach, while providing a welcoming experience for current DSRC members.

·      Coordinate proposed class times and use of shared fitness spaces with club operations; record completed sessions and attendance through established club systems.

·      Support participant retention, progress check-ins and responsible fitness education without making medical or rehabilitation claims.

Initial program and growth expectations

The first 90 days in 2027 are designed as a measured launch. The following are planning capacities, not required shifts, minimum hours or guaranteed bookings:

The contractor proposes workable appointment availability, with confirmed bookings subject to facility access and club scheduling. Program performance will be discussed at approximately 30, 60 and 90 days, considering collected coaching revenue, attendance, repeat bookings, participant satisfaction and sustainable growth. Additional offerings require advance approval.

Qualifications

·      Current nationally recognized personal training certification and CPR/AED credentials.

·      Demonstrated experience delivering private coaching and safe small-group fitness instruction.

·      Knowledge of racquet-sport conditioning, functional strength, mobility and age-appropriate modifications.

·      Strong communication, client development, organization and customer-service skills.

·      Appropriate specialist qualifications for any yoga instruction; ability to maintain required insurance and complete applicable club screening.

Compensation and contractor arrangement

Proposed compensation is 70% of eligible collected fees for approved, personally delivered coaching services, excluding applicable taxes, refunds and chargebacks. Illustrative member/nonmember rates are $90/$110 for private sessions, $40/$50 per person for semi-private sessions, and $20/$25 per person for classes; final rates are established by DSRC. There is no base salary, guaranteed client volume, paid leave or employee benefits. Terms, insurance and other responsibilities will be detailed in a written independent-contractor agreement.

DSRC retains membership dues and initiation fees. This role is nonexclusive: DSRC may independently offer Pilates type classes, aquatic fitness, yoga type classes, dance fitness and strength classes, wellness events and other services or work with additional providers. Participation in other programs or related compensation requires separate written authorization.
