Fitness Staff

We are seeking a Fitness Attendant to join our team at the New Orleans Jewish Community Center.  As a Fitness Attendant, your primary responsibilities will include making sure all fitness areas are up to standards.  Weights are sorted, equipment is straightened up, and assisting members. This role requires you to be friendly to members whether spotting on a lift or providing directions to a class.

Essential Duties andResponsibilities:

• Rerack weights
• Spotting members
• Knowledge of all machines
• Making sure cleaning bottles and paper towels are filled for members to use
• Clean gym facility and equipment
• Clean, dry, fold and store towels for the fitness area as well as the fitness desk.
• Walk through locker rooms and make sure they are kept nice and clean
• Report any broken equipment, dispensers or lighting to Facilities Manager
• Ability to follow written and oral directions and work independently
• Sweeping and mopping fitness center
• Team player with a friendly, positive attitude

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

• General gym experience preferred 
• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Detail oriented
• Works well with other staff members of the JCC using positive and effective interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, reach high and low areas and work at a steady pace

Schedule

Saturdays and Sunday,  1:30 pm-7:00 pm and other shifts as needed
