Responsibilities

  • Deck (anchoring & mooring) machinery (coordination with Chief Off.)
  • Operating systems for accommodation/stores handling platforms, hoists, ladders
  • Operating systems for side/shell doors and all watertight doors
  • Operating systems for pools, whirlpools, and spas
  • Lifeboat propulsion systems
  • Davit structures and winches (coordination with Chief Off.)
  • Galley, pantry, bar and service station equipment (including proper operation of backflow preventers and all other USPHS required equipment)
  • Laundry equipment and vents (main, Guest and Crew)
  • All sewage handling equipment outside the Engine Room
  • Elevator mechanical equipment (assist Electricians as needed)
  • CO2 systems (assist Chief Officer Safety as needed)
  • Outside and inside structural repairs (except for Engine Room spaces)
  • Hotel plumbing, fresh/saltwater and potable water distribution services
  • Waste management plant (wet and dry) excluding the incinerator
  • HVAC Systems(includes compressors, chilled water, sea water cooling, heating)
  • Provision Refrigeration Plant
  • Inventory control of spares & stores for assigned systems (req. in AMOS)
  • Compile planned work lists and report work done on AMOS (do separate list for repairs etc. that can only be done during dry or wet dock)
  • Oversee proper response to and closeout of Espresso work orders for areas of responsibility.
  • Sees that personnel files for the positions under them in the chain of command are maintained (working with HR Manager)
  • Emergency Duties as specified in the ship’s Assembly / Emergency Function Plan

Additional Information

This is a SHIPBOARD role. 
You must: 
  • Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel 
  • Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency responsibilities, and associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan 
  • Be willing to uphold the general safety management responsibilities as specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control 
  • If applicable, be willing to share a confined cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multicultural environment that has strict rules and regulations 
Your Responsibilities: 
  • Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this) 
  • Complete a pre-employment medical 
  • Obtain a criminal background check 
  • Bring approved work shoes
