The Client is a global IT services and consulting company that offers a wide range of services and products across various industries like IT Infrastructure Services, Cybersecurity Services, Cloud Services, Big Data and Analytics, Internet of Things (IoT) Solutions, Semiconductor Services and Enterprise Software Products.
Essential Job Functions:
- Analyze, optimize, and implement cost optimization actions over different cloud services.
- Implement and manage automated tools to help identify cost trends and anomalies.
- Build automation that optimizes the cloud environment.
- Create financial and usage dashboards.
- Work with our technical teams to design and implement new services in the most cost-efficient way.
- Work with the financial teams on budget, forecast, and expenses reports.
- Work closely with our finance and legal departments to negotiate cost terms and contracts.
- Cost Monitoring.
- Recommendations on Cost Optimization.
- Recommendations on reducing orphaned resources.
- Participate in establishing FinOps Operating model and improving the FinOps culture.
- Preparation of Ad-hoc FinOps reports as and when required.
- Maintain and update the Cost Savings Tracker.
- Update the Power BI dashboard to reflect the realized savings of Scheduled Instances.
- Update the Power BI dashboard to reflect the Achieved and Potential Cost Optimizations.
- Preparation of Monthly AWS Purchase Order (PO) narrative for invoicing payment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5 to 8 years
- 4+ years of experience as a FinOps Engineer or equivalent - Must.
- Knowledge of Cloud hosting technologies - Must.
- Strong principles of financial analysis - Must.
- Proven analytical skills and experience with cost optimization.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar accounts.
- Deep understanding with cloud costs and the various alternatives.
- Cost-savings and cost optimization mindset.
- Ability to drive savings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exposure with tools like Flexera would be an added advantage.
