Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Senior Accountant (Contract) to provide financial reporting, technical accounting, regulatory reporting, and project support within ***'s Financial Reporting team. The Financial Reporting team is responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and reliable financial information, including financial statements and regulatory filings, to applicable stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
The role will work closely with team members to provide essential support with financial reporting processes, technical accounting analyses, regulatory compliance, and reporting-related initiatives.
Specific Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and filing of the company's consolidated and/or stand-alone financial statements for its various subsidiaries in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of technical accounting memoranda, accounting policies, and reporting documentation and coordinate with external auditors to ensure conclusions are appropriate.
- Research and document accounting conclusions related to new transactions, accounting pronouncements, and reporting matters under U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
- Perform peer and competitor disclosure benchmarking analysis to support financial reporting and disclosure enhancements.
- Compile presentations and reports for senior management, committees, and the Board
- Ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles by performing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes including analyzing monthly financial results and providing actionable recommendations to cross-functional teams
- Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements and company policies
- Participate in overseeing and maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data by analyzing and challenging data compiled in the financial statement reports
- Engage in ad hoc projects (system upgrades and testing, process improvements, documentation and other training manual updates/presentations)
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 3-5 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or auditing role
- Certified Public Accountant (or equivalent) or on a path to obtain CPA, preferred
- Working or applied knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with IFRS, with the ability to independently research, interpret, and apply accounting guidance to routine transactions and reporting matters
- General understanding of regulatory financial reporting (statements) requirements
- Strong attention to detail with a high standard of accuracy
- Applied knowledge of accounting (e.g., Oracle, FCCS) and/or financial reporting software (e.g., Workiva, Blackline) and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Power BI
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
