Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Reporting Analyst to support the preparation and review of financial statements, regulatory filings, fund expenses, and reporting activities for registered investment companies. This role works closely with fund administration and financial reporting teams to ensure accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery of shareholder and regulatory documents.The ideal candidate has mutual fund accounting or financial reporting experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven financial services environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare draft annual, semi-annual, and quarterly financial statements for registered investment companies
- Prepare and support regulatory filings, including:
- Form N-SAR
- Form N-CSR
- Form N-Q24F-2
- Develop and maintain financial reporting calendars and reporting timelines
- Prepare fund expense proformas and related reporting schedules
- Review fund expenses and accruals and coordinate adjustments with clients and reporting teams
- Prepare and review fund expense invoices for approval
- Assist with board book preparation and procedures documentation
- Report and communicate fund performance information to management and industry publications
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory and accounting requirements impacting investment companies
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess impacts on financial reporting processes
- Support special projects and process improvement initiatives
- Assist in reviewing work completed by junior team members
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of:
- EDGAR filing systems
- Financial reporting applications
- Fund accounting systems
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, efficiency, and reporting processes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of mutual fund accounting, fund administration, or related financial services experience
- 1-2 years of financial reporting experience
- Strong understanding of:
- Financial statements
- Fund accounting
- Regulatory reporting
- Financial disclosure requirements
- Knowledge of:
- GAAP
- Investment Company Act of 1940
- Regulation S-X
- Internal Revenue Code requirements for investment companies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a client-focused, deadline-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience preparing registered investment company financial statements
- Experience with EDGAR filing processes
- Experience with fund accounting platforms and financial reporting systems
- Experience reviewing work completed by junior associates
- Knowledge of fund expense management and accrual processes
- Experience supporting board reporting and shareholder communications
- Experience with reporting automation and process improvement initiatives
