Financial Controller | Oki Golf

As the Oki Golf Controller, you are responsible for all aspects of financial reporting and operational controls. You will ensure accurate monthly financial statements are prepared timely and ensure adequate controls are in place, executed properly, and improved as needed. Working directly with the Sr. Director, you will define appropriate control timelines and procedures, working with department leaders to ensure solid understanding and adherence to financial processes and procedures.  You also ensure all financial processes and controls are documented, develop reports to track variances, look for patterns to improve operations, and you report any control deficiencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervision:

• Supervise, develop and train home office accounting staff to support property operations with accurate and meaningful financial information.
• Indirect supervision of property bookkeepers

Financial Statements:

• Manage and maintain lease accounting records in accordance with ASC 842, prepare monthly journal entries, and reconcile lease-related general ledger accounts.  
• Provide financial analysis to support the operation and improve financials processes.
• Ensures that the month-end checklist is executed, and GL account reconciliations are completed monthly.
• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software, POS system, and supporting database.

Controls:

• Ensure AP is paid timely, and all discounts are taken. Confirm that accounts receivable is collected promptly. Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
• Monitor inventory reports to ensure accuracy and resolve variances.
• Ensures compliance with daily control processes and property operations, including end-of-day reconciliations, daily cash reconciliation, and inventory. Works with property to correct any process shortfalls.

Business Management:

• Ensures compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Reviews biweekly tips and other payroll payouts to ensure accuracy
• Monitor and improve operation costs, profitability and manage business risks. Perform analysis of business areas to ensure pricing and discounts are appropriate.
• Work with property to ensure all event billing is sent out timely and aged receivables are being actively followed up on.
• Assist department managers in reviewing their financials- assisting them in drilling down to specific transactions to understand variances.
• Assist the Sr. Director with special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Accounting Degree is required
• At least 7 years of experience, ideally as an auditor with supervisory experience
• Excellent analytical organizational interpersonal and communication skills – attention to detail accuracy and deadlines
• Able to work well under pressure and balance multiple priorities and assignments

COMPENSATION DETAILS:

• Offered rate of pay range:$125,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
• Eligible forannual bonus* equal to 10% of yearly salary amount (appx.$12,500.00 - $14,000.00)

*Bonus eligibility based on meeting company financial goals.
