Job Summary

The IT Workforce Strategy and Operations team is seeking a Business / Financial Analyst to support procurement, accounts payable, vendor management, and financial operations. The consultant will work closely with Finance, Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Project Managers to ensure timely payment processing, resolve vendor issues, perform financial analysis, and improve business processes.

Responsibilities

• Support Accounts Payable by resolving unmatched, unvouchered, and rejected invoices.
• Assist IT Finance with daily financial operations.
• Coordinate with Buyers to resolve Purchase Order (PO) issues.
• Generate and manage AP Aging Reports.
• Ensure compliance with New York State Prompt Payment Law.
• Perform cost and spend analysis.
• Act as liaison between Project Managers, Procurement, Finance, and Vendors.
• Resolve vendor payment disputes and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Create receipts and process transactions in PeopleSoft.
• Analyze large datasets and identify trends and exceptions.
• Prepare weekly AP metrics and financial reports.
• Review invoices and coordinate issue resolution with vendors.
• Draft business correspondence, including emails and letters.
• Recommend process improvements and identify procedural gaps.
• Perform data collection and notify management of financial exceptions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of Accounting or Financial Analyst experience.
• Minimum 2 years of PeopleSoft Finance/Procurement experience.
• Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable processes.
• Experience with Financial Systems such as PeopleSoft and Oracle.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, auditing, or project financial management is a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Office 365 skills, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience performing financial analysis using enterprise financial systems.
