About the Role
This role sits on the Financial Reporting team at a leading energy infrastructure company, reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting with day-to-day guidance from the Team Lead for Financial Performance, MD&A, and Disclosures. It is an execution-focused position centered on preparing, reconciling, and coordinating financial reporting and regulatory disclosures across quarterly and annual cycles, not a review or supervisory role.
The right person for this seat is a detail-oriented accounting professional who takes full ownership of assigned reporting responsibilities, thrives during high-volume close periods, and brings advanced Excel skills alongside a genuine interest in process improvement. Someone who is self-directed, communicates clearly with both finance and business-unit partners, and requires minimal day-to-day oversight will feel right at home here.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in compiling and coordinating quarterly and annual MD&A, including preparation of supporting schedules for external financial statements
2. Own assigned financial statement responsibilities, covering either Pension Plan financial statements or Statistics Canada financial reporting
3. Prepare financial statement notes and disclosure support materials, and participate in quarterly, annual, and year-end close activities
4. Coordinate with business units to obtain, validate, and analyze financial information in support of reporting deadlines
5. Respond to external auditor requests related to accounting and financial reporting
6. Perform reconciliations and variance analysis; prepare and maintain working papers supporting all financial reporting activities
7. Develop, maintain, and optimize advanced Excel models and reporting documentation used across the Financial Reporting team
8. Identify and recommend process improvements to increase reporting efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Experience
• Undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurately under tight reporting deadlines
• Self-directed work style with the ability to operate independently
• Eligibility to work in Canada without restriction
Preferred Skills
• CPA designation (fully achieved)
• Experience with Workiva, SAP ECC, SAP BPC, Power BI, SharePoint, or Microsoft Teams
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP or other recognized accounting standards
• Experience supporting external financial reporting and disclosure preparation
