Field Process Operator / 4th Class Power Engineer

Our Oil & Gas client is seeking 16 Contract Field Process Operators to support operations and a major Turnaround (TA) event at a large industrial processing facility. This is a temporary contract opportunity focused on supporting shutdown, decontamination, commissioning, startup, and operational activities while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of process units.

• Number of Openings: 16
• Contract Start: January 11, 2027 (Orientation)
• Contract End: June 7, 2027*
• Duration: Approximately 6 months
• Potential Extension: Opportunity for contract extension based on business requirements and individual performance during the turnaround.
• Contract dates subject to change based on operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support turnaround activities including shutdown, decontamination, commissioning, and startup of assigned units.
• Monitor and operate process equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Execute field rounds and operational checks.
• Support equipment isolation, operational readiness, and startup activities.
• Follow all site operating procedures and safety requirements.
• Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractor personnel.
• Participate in overtime and extended work schedules during turnaround events as required.
• Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4th Class ABSA Power Engineering Certification.
• Experience in a process operations environment, preferably within oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, or industrial processing facilities.
• Valid driver's license.
• Current Fall Protection certification.
• Current Confined Space Entry certification.
• Personal FR (fire-retardant) clothing and CSA-approved safety boots.
• Ability to safely wear respiratory protection and SCBA equipment.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces.
• Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
• Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, holidays, and turnaround schedules.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must reside within commuting distance or relocate at own expense.
