JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Field Implementation & Community Engagement (30%)

  • Coordinate day-to-day implementation of RAP activities.

  • Mobilize communities and engage local leaders.

  • Build strong relationships with participants and stakeholders.

  • Identify emerging community needs and recommend appropriate responses.

  • Coordinate logistics for training, meetings, and field activities.

  • Conduct home visits and participant follow-up with coaches as needed.

B. Supervision & Capacity Building (55%)

  • Supervise Community Coaches.

  • Orient and mentor newly recruited Coaches.

  • Conduct weekly meetings, training sessions, and provide ongoing coaching with Coaches.

  • Build Coach capacity through training and mentorship.

  • Review Coach reports and verify data before submission.

  • Monitor the quality of Coach facilitation and participant engagement.

  • Monitor participant wellbeing, mentorship, referrals, and counselling groups.

  • Monitor attendance, savings groups, and participant progress.

  • Adapt training approaches based on participant needs.

C. Monitoring, Learning & Reporting (15%)

  • Verify field data before submission.

  • Monitor implementation quality and identify challenges.

  • Collect stories, photographs, videos, and participant feedback.

    D. General Responsibilities

  • Carry out other duties assigned

  • Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, professional development, and organizational learning activities.

  • Prepare weekly reports and work plans the Friday before each work week

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Diploma in Social Work and Social Administration or Development Studies/ Community Psychology or a degree in a related field

  • At least 2 years working experience as a project assistant in a recognised organisation

  • Agree with Christian mission, values, and objectives of Ignite Change

  • Knowledge of social work principles and practices and their applications to complex casework and treatment.

  • Passionate about helping vulnerable groups of people

  • Exhibit the highest level of integrity

  • Be responsive and flexible

  • Fluent in Luo

  • Must be effective in written and verbal communication in English

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

  • Ability to complete tasks efficiently and in a timely manner, with minimal or no prompting

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays

  • Self-motivated and innovative

Prefered

  • A valid riding permit

  • Experience working cross-culturally
