FCS Reqs

Role: FCS Solution Architect / Technical Lead:

• Job Description: Responsible for the overall architecture / design of the solution, including server specification.
• Key Responsibilities: Solution design, technical decisions, design reviews, issue escalation.
• Must Have Skills: Knowledge ofItron Field Collection System (FCS) and Itron Mobile Collection System with experience in solution architecture/design.
  
  Project Overview:
• Client uses theItron Field Collection System (FCS) to support its field meter-reading operations, leveragingFC300 handheld devices and Itron MC3/MC4 Toughbooks used by field personnel. The current landscape includesFCS 4.3.0 for NY Water and FCS 4.5.3 for Liberty.
• The field personnel has the FC300 handhelds and Itron MC3 / MC4 Toughbook at his/her truck. The field personnel uses bing map to display the street view and the route. Microsoft is ending support for that bing map version, effective 11/30/2026. So, the existing FCS environments will undergo astepped upgrade to FCS 4.7 to continue bing map support. Anew QA FCS environment will be established and upgraded to FCS 4.7 to validate the solution throughFunctional, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) before production deployment.
• The upgrade scope also includes the associatedFC300 handhelds and MC3/MC4 Toughbooks, along with the impact associated with the applicableBing Maps version.
• The existingFCS-to-SAP integration will continue to be supported throughClient and MoveIT sFTP, ensuring the exchange of meter-reading information between theField Collection System (FCS) and the SAP billing landscape.
• From a business-process perspective, SAP initiates meter-reading requirements based on the billing cycle. Field personnel perform the requiredelectricity/water meter-reading activities using the field collection devices, with the collected readings subsequently transferred through FCS and made available to SAP for downstream billing processing.

Role: FCS Integration Developer:

• Job Description: Responsible for developing the interface between FCS and SAP billing system.
• Key Responsibilities: FCS-side interface development, mapping and unit testing.
• Must Have Skills: Hands-on interface development and integration experience, preferably involving Itron FCS or a comparable field collection system and enterprise applications such as SAP.

• Job Description: Responsible for Functional and Non-Functional testing of the upgraded FCS (version 4.7).
• Key Responsibilities: Functional and Non-Functional test planning, test case preparation and Testing of the upgraded FCS (version 4.7), defect triage, retesting of defects, test result documents.
• Must Have Skills: Functional Testing of Itron's Field Collection System (FCS) or any compatible Collection system.
