The role supports coordinating sitewide EFM projects with multiple cross-functional disciplines and stakeholders.  Â
The position plays a key role in the Energy & Facilities Management function by improving project delivery, supporting capital investment decisions, maintaining asset condition oversight and enabling the successful execution of strategic initiatives relating to asset lifecycle management, sustainability, business continuity and workplace improvement. The role ensures that projects are delivered consistently, risks are effectively managed and value is maximised from capital expenditure.
What you’ll be doing
The Engineering & Projects Coordinator supports the delivery of safe, compliant and cost-effective engineering, facilities management and capital improvement projects across the Boots estate. The role provides essential project coordination, financial control, governance and contractor management support to ensure assets, infrastructure and facilities remain operational, legally compliant and aligned to business requirements. Your role will involve:
- Coordinating the delivery of engineering, facilities management and infrastructure projects from concept through to completionÂ
- Supporting the development of business cases, project briefs, cost estimates and investment proposals to enable informed capital planning.Â
- Monitoring project performance, risks, actions and financial performance, producing regular reports and management information.Â
- Coordinating cross-functional facilities and engineering improvement projects involving internal stakeholders, contractors and service providers.Â
- Managing and coordinate third-party project delivery partners, to ensure projects are completed safely, compliantly and in line with agreed standards.Â
- Overseeing and coordinate planned condition assessment programmes.Â
- Supporting the delivery of energy reduction, sustainability and asset improvement initiatives Â
- Maintaining project governance documentation, financial records, project trackers, dashboards and management reporting.Â
- Supporting procurement, tendering and contractor selection activitiesÂ
- Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with health, safety, environmental and statutory compliance requirementsÂ
What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)
- Experience within Facilities Management, Building Services, Engineering or Property.
- Experience managing outsourced contracts and holding suppliers accountable for performance and service delivery.
- Understanding of capital project delivery, budgeting, contractor management and project governance.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects and workstreams within a complex operational environment.
- Familiarity with large operational estates, including the challenges of ageing infrastructure and critical assets.
- Knowledge of asset lifecycle management, condition surveys and remedial work planning.
- Understanding of commercial and procurement processes, including tendering, cost control and performance management.
- Ability to analyse asset, project and performance data to support investment and planning decisions.
- Working knowledge of Health & Safety, contractor control, risk management and statutory compliance.
- Strong organisational, written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
It would be great if you also have
- Experience working for a leading FM service provider (e.g. CBRE, JLL, Mitie, ISS or equivalent).
- Experience of large, complex sites with extensive infrastructure and asset management requirements.
- Knowledge of CAFM systems and data-led asset management practices.
