Title: Facilities Engineer
Location: Fort Mill, SC
Duration: Direct Hire
Summary of PositionÂ
Â
The Facilities Engineer will play a critical role in supporting plant infrastructure, utilities, and chemical systems while driving process improvements, safety initiatives, and operational efficiency. These qualities should be supported by excellent project management skills and a strong knowledge of structural code requirements. Â
Â
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Support and improve chemical handling systems and infrastructure
- Identify and mitigate chemical and process-related risks
- Gathering and analyzing data, blueprints, and reports. Â
- Determining facility and equipment specifications. Â
- Analyzing project costs and preparing budgets. Â
- Designing and overseeing the implementation of facility expansion, layout, various systems, and quality controls. Â
- Evaluating operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies. Â
- Developing processing plans and optimizing resource allocation. Â
- Planning and coordinating infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities. Â
- Coordinating and overseeing contractors performing maintenance activities. Â
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards. Â
- Preparing reports and compliance documentation. Â
- Review and Optimize Facilities equipment Preventive Maintenance Items in CMMS. Â
- Asset Management, documentation, and Engineering. Â
- Working knowledge of HVAC & fire suppression systems. Â
- Working knowledge of High Voltage equipment and design. Â
- Prepare annual, 5- and 10-year plans for infrastructure projects. Â
- Review and monitor current processes to optimize efficiency. Â
- Scheduling of routine maintenance. Â
- Troubleshooting any issues with the plant utility systems. Â
- Analysis of potential improvements. Â
- Prepare Technical Specifications. Â
- Assist with the development of Annual Master Plans. Â
- Serve as a change agent to improve facility and chemical processes
- Knowledge of the building process and construction principles. Â
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and building codes. Â
- Proven ability to solve problems creatively. Â
- Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices. Â
- Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle. Â
- Excellent analytical skills. Â
- Strong interpersonal skills and resourcefulness. Â
- Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline. Â
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate to different levels in the company. Â
- Experience with AutoCAD, MS Office, and CMMS. Â

Education and/or Experience Â
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience.Â
- 5-10 years of experience as a Facilities Engineer or in a similar role.Â
- Experience working with hazardous chemicals or chemical systems.
- Experience in chemical, solar, paper, or industrial manufacturing environments
