- Responsible for the proper functioning and maintenance of the equipment specified for this position and those subordinate to it. This normally includes the following systems, but assignments may be modified by the Chief Engineer as needed:
- Provide professional and social guidance to subordinates by personal leadership.
- Work in cooperation with First Engineer A and Chief Officer’s
- Point of contact for all related guest and crew cabins technical challenges.
- Oversee proper response to and closeout of AIMS work orders for areas of responsibility.
- Black water system & vacuum tanks.
- Guest and crew cabins (only) air condition system, including AIMS, cleaning, and maintenance of the cabin cooling system.
- Guest, crew, and public areas black, grey, and potable water system.
- Guest and Crew cabins related power issues.
- Inventory control of spares and stores for assigned systems (req. in AMOS)
- Compile planned work lists and report work done on AMOS (create separate list for repairs, etc., that can only be done during dry or wet dock)
- Oversee proper response to and closeout of AIMS work orders for areas of responsibility.
- Sees that personnel files for the positions under them in the chain of command are maintained (working with Human Resources)
- Emergency Duties as specified in the ship’s Assembly Stations and Emergency Functions Plan
- SMS – uphold the general safety management responsibilities in areas and operations under their control.
