Functions and Responsibilities:
- Document general operations processes and use time studies to prove and show improvements before and after a process improvement event.
- Create customer product specific Work Instructions for processes control and repeatability.
- Evaluate and recommend manufacturing processes based on quality criteria and customer requirements.
- Use continuous improvement practices to make suitable improvements to product repeatability.
- Understand production and machine requirements vital to manufacturing components.
- Suggest and develop better workflow for projects work by working with responsible supervisor.
- Develop new process control and maintain work instructions to ensure equipment is being utilized with proper training and repeatability.
- Work with operations team members to evaluate existing customer jobs, processes, and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements.
- Create processes and procedures to help the company meet or exceed budgetary and performance goals.
- Assist with rejected parts reviews for root cause analysis of non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Must be able to communicate and problem solve in a reasonable, respectful, and professional manner with the entire Ravelin Defense team.
- Adhere to Ravelin Defense's Quality Management System.
- Facilitate engineering change orders and quality documentation between Ravelin Defense's programming team and manufacturing process.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements for Education, Skillset, Qualifications, and Experience:
Required
- A minimum of an associate’s degree in manufacturing engineering or related field; equivalent manufacturing experience may be considered.
- Experience in a fabrication or metal manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: laser cutting, waterjet cutting, or press brake operations.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work directly on the shop floor in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong communication skills with both production personnel and engineering teams.
Preferred
- Experience across multiple fabrication processes (laser, waterjet, press brake, forming, or finishing).
- Experience developing or maintaining work instructions or standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Knowledge of tooling design and press brake setup optimization.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for fabrication programming or review.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement principles.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems or production scheduling tools.
- Experience supporting NPI (New Product Introduction) or prototype manufacturing.
- Basic understanding of machining or downstream weld/fabrication processes.

- Standardized fabrication processes across equipment and departments
- Assist with effective onboarding and improved operator training effectiveness
- Improved manufacturability feedback loop with Engineering
