Skilled Nursing Facility Administrator

We are seeking an executive-levelLicensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) to take operational and clinical stewardship of our facility inPontiac, IL. In this role, you will hold ultimate accountability for facility performance, driving clinical quality, strict regulatory adherence, budgetary health, and a positive team culture.

Core Responsibilities

• Direct all day-to-day facility operations, maintaining continuous survey readiness in full alignment with IDPH, CMS, OSHA, and local regulatory standards.
• Serve as the principal liaison to state survey teams, regulatory bodies, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and local healthcare partners across Livingston County and surrounding areas.
• Ensure robust quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) frameworks are actively monitored, implemented, and refined across all units.
• Maintain rigorous oversight of facility documentation, incident reporting, and mandatory state/federal operational metrics.
• Manage facility P&L, partnering with corporate leadership to steer annual budgeting, cost-containment measures, and census development strategies.
• Maximize revenue performance through proactive case-mix management, Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement optimization, and vendor contract evaluation.
• Champion a resident- and family-first service model, proactively resolving inquiries, family communications, and grievance processes with empathy and urgency.
• Partner with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Medical Director to evaluate clinical indicators, mitigate risk, and enhance short-term rehabilitation and specialized long-term care pathways.
• Mentor, hold accountable, and develop department heads across nursing, social services, dietary, rehabilitation, and environmental services.
• Lead talent acquisition, retention, and workforce development initiatives to build a resilient, engaged clinical and support team.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensure:
  • Active, unencumberedIllinois Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license,OR
  • Eligibility for a temporary Illinois NHA license (requires a Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of relevant management experience in skilled nursing, such as Social Services, with the ability to pass the state licensing exam within three years).
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree (MHA, MBA, MSN) strongly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of administrative leadership experience within a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or post-acute healthcare setting.
• Regulatory & Payer Expertise: Deep functional knowledge of Title XVIII (Medicare), Title XIX (Medicaid), VA contracting/care coordination, and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) mandates.
• Fiscal Acumen: Demonstrated capability in managing operating budgets, labor management, and driving bottom-line efficiency without sacrificing clinical care.
• Leadership: Exceptional interpersonal diplomacy, crisis management capability, and executive presentation skills.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 per year, based on experience
