Location: Southington, CT
Duration: 1 year contract with potential to convert to perm
Pay: $21.00 -$21.50
Hours: Sunday - Thursday 10:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Less than 1 year of experience; manufacturing background preferred.
Position Summary
The Extrusion Team Operator is responsible for performing related and recurring production activities which may include operation of equipment for production, mixing, slitter, or regrind in accordance with established procedures. Schedule tasks in such a manner to meet production needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform parameter readings/inspections according to established schedule.
- Perform annealing and quarantine processes.
- Stage product in correct area – quarantine, hold, non-conforming.
- Create container, vial, trace, accept and inspected labels.
- Access vial, caps, disk, sponges, label and tote locations.
- Perform trimming operation, ensuring safety guards are in place before starting machine.
- Scan labels into the MRP system.
- Ensure paperwork and forms are completed with proper information.
- Complete hold and non-conformance tickets as required.
- Assist with changeovers on equipment.
- Assist in the training of new Operators (OJT).
- Maintain 5S standards in assigned work areas.
- Model company values and support strategic initiatives.
Work Environment
- Work involves use of manufacturing equipment or close proximity to equipment. May be exposed to biohazards and/or chemicals.
- Work environment can range from clean room and proper gowning requirements to a production area that is open, potentially noisy and with moving equipment.
- Recurring physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, crouching, climbing, bilateral motion involving hands, wrists and upper body.
- Concentrated visual attention to perform checks on products and components.
- Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
