Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:  

• Performs echocardiogram diagnostic test from Provider order via EMR and reports test information with appropriate EMR documentation according to department policy and procedures; clarifies MD orders and goals of Rx .  

• Types of echocardiogram diagnostic tests: diagnostic m-mode, two-dimensional, spectral Doppler, color Doppler, andexercise/pharmacological stressechocardiograms.  

• Ability to place and remove peripheral IV to administrate contrast agent or agitated saline when criteria for imaging use are met via echocardiogramprotocol.   

• Respond to STAT echo calls and Code Blues as required  

• Identifies abnormal/critical echocardiogram findings during testing and ensures notification to physician as appropriately needed.  

• Troubleshoots technical methods of echocardiography asnecessary.  

• Checks echocardiogram equipment to ensure that it’s functioning correctly before patient use.  

• Demonstrates knowledge of the echocardiogram machines and echocardiogram electronic management system. Able to access database to retrieve and send data utilizing the clinical and financial information systems. Able to troubleshoot basic technical echocardiogram machine issues.  Performs all echocardiogram machine functions withconfidence  

• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of  testing rooms; ensures that it is stocked withsupplies.

  MinimumQualifications:  

• Education:  Associate degree and/or equivalent experience in clinical testing environment. Bachelor’s degreepreferred.    

• Licensure, Certification, Registration:  ARDMS/RDCS accreditation or accreditation eligible and current basic life support (BLS) certificationrequired.  

• Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Strong organizational and both written andverbal comminucation skills.  In depth knowledge ofcardiac anaotmy, and the ability to applythat knowdelge to gather relevant informationfor diagnotsic evaluation.  In the absence of any of these skills, demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizationalstandards.  

• Experience:  Minimum of four years of experience in echocardiographypreferred.  

Pay Range:

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
