About The Role

The Executive Manager, Institutional Banking Operations is accountable for the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of a global operations portfolio supporting Institutional Banking & Markets and selected Business Banking clients. The portfolio spans Institutional Lending, Agency Operations, Transaction Banking, Controlled Monies & Insolvency and eBilling.

The role combines client engagement, operational leadership, risk stewardship and transformation. Operating in a matrix environment, the Executive Manager has global accountability for institutional lending processes and for the operational provision of international trade products to offshore offices.

Working with clients and partners across Coverage, Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance and COO, the role strengthens service, controls and operational capability while enabling sustainable growth and modernisation.

Do Work That Matters

Reporting to the General Manager, Market Operations, you will lead day-to-day performance and the simplification, capability and transformation agenda for Institutional Banking Operations.

Key Accountabilities:

• Lead end-to-end operations across Institutional Lending, Agency Operations, Transaction Banking, Controlled Monies & Insolvency and eBilling.
• Hold global accountability for institutional lending processes, standards, controls and service outcomes across delivery locations.
• Oversee the operational provision of international trade products to offshore offices, ensuring consistent service, governance and risk management.
• Build trusted client relationships and act as a senior operational contact for implementations, complex transactions and escalations.
• Deliver safe, stable and efficient performance across service, productivity, resilience and client outcomes.
• Set and execute the operations strategy, including platform modernisation, digitisation, automation, AI and global operating-model changes.
• Own the control environment and first-line management of operational, regulatory, compliance and conduct risk.
• Lead through a matrix structure, aligning global teams and partners across Coverage, Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Financial Crime and COO.
• Use customer, operational, financial and risk insights to prioritise investment, resolve root causes and support growth.
• Build leadership depth, specialist capability, succession and career pathways across a geographically dispersed workforce.
