DSO is scaling its events portfolio to support the launch of District I0 and DSO's positioning as a leading tech and innovation authority aligned with D33. This role is the hands-on operator who sits between marketing roll out and event delivery, translating campaign objectives into executed, on-brand, on-time events, and holding delivery agencies accountable for the operational build.
This is not a strategy-setting role. This is not a graduate/intern/admin-support role either, the person must be able to manage agency relationships and execute marketing campaign deliverables, from day one.
What This Role Owns
Event Delivery Management
- Act as DSO's on-the-ground lead for flagship events (e.g. GITEX stand, Doers Summit) translating approved concepts into detailed delivery.
- Brief, manage, and hold accountable third-party event production/build agencies against scope, timeline, and budget. DSO does not self-deliver operations, but this person owns whether the agency delivers correctly.
- Manage vendor coordination, on-site logistics, and issue resolution during live events.
- Track budgets against agency quotes and flag variances before they become overruns.
- Execute promotional plan elements for each event: pre-event campaign, on-site activation/content capture, post-event amplification.
- Work across the full marketing mix, digital, social, email/CRM, signage/collateral, partner co-marketing, to drive registrations, footfall, and stand traffic.
- Coordinate with internal content/design and digital resources (or external agencies where applicable) to produce event-specific assets on brand and on deadline.
Agency & Stakeholder Management
- Point of coordination between DSO marketing and external delivery agencies (production, creative, digital) for a given event.
- Manage timelines, approvals, and change requests.
- Liaise with internal DSO stakeholders on event requirements and sign-offs.
What This Role Does Not Own
- Overall marketing strategy, brand positioning, or annual planning
- Budget approval (works within an approved budget, doesn't set it)
- Direct line management of other staff
Candidate Profile
- 4 - 6 years' experience in events and/or B2B marketing.
- Proven delivery experience on B2B/corporate/trade events.
- Comfortable owning both the marketing (campaign, content, promotion) and delivery (logistics, agency management, on-site execution) sides, this is the intersection the role is built for.
- Working knowledge of the full marketing mix: digital/social campaigns, email/CRM, basic PR coordination, on-site branding/collateral.
- Strong vendor/agency management skills - briefing, negotiating scope, holding agencies to deadlines and quality bar.
- Available for on-site event days including evenings/weekends around major event windows (GITEX, groundbreaking, summits).
- Experience in Dubai/UAE events market and familiarity with local vendor ecosystem.
- Exposure to tech/innovation sector or government-linked entities.
