Prime Air is bringing drone delivery to Europe. Every site we open needs safe, approved access to airspace, and today that is the single largest bottleneck between us and launch. You will own it.
You will lead airspace integration for our European operations: the airspace case inside each Operational Authorisation, national procedures, Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) approvals, U-Space coordination, and the relationships with air navigation service providers that make it work. You will also lead our Detect-and-Avoid validation work with national authorities, turning a novel technology into something a regulator can accept. Success is airspace approved on time for every site on our launch plan, and a repeatable method that gets faster with each one.
Key job responsibilities
Own airspace assessment tasks and integration work in the EU: e.g. BVLOS flight authorisation, U-Space coordination, national airspace procedures, geographical zone screening for each candidate site
Deliver the airspace components of EU site approvals, working with the Head of Regulatory Approvals who owns the overall Operational Authorisation.
Own the air risk assessment within each SORA application: e.g. air risk class determination, strategic and tactical mitigations, and the DAA evidence that supports them, delivered to the EU Head of Regulatory Approvals for integration into the safety case.
Lead engagement with Air Navigation Service Providers and U-Space service providers, and manage airspace and ANSP consultants during application peaks.
Keep airspace positions consistent across jurisdictions, working with the wider Regulatory Affairs team.
Build reusable airspace templates and evidence packs so each new site is faster than the last.
A day in the life
You will split your time between authority and ANSP engagement, building the airspace case for the next site, and working with our engineering and safety teams to turn technical capability into regulatory evidence. You will travel to candidate sites and authority meetings across the EU.
