We are currently supporting a client on a Direct Hire opportunity for an Estimator in Irving, TX.

Job Description

This position is office based and reports to the Chief Estimator. The scope of work for the position involves executing computer aidedand hand take off estimates of structural steel components. This will include an understanding and ability to labor standard components. Tasks will include the development of supporting documentation for the preparation of a complete estimate.

This position will be required to perform take offs of all types of structural steel components and typical detail requirements. Will be required to review vendor and sub-tier quotes to ensure scope compliance with contract documents.

Will produce estimate summaries identifying basic and special requirements for the required scope of work such as buy­ out Items.

Assist In the training of Estimators In Training positions

Nice-to-Haves

• Strong experience reviewing contract drawings and specifications along with other information related to structural steel

• Strong computer skills with knowledge of Bluebeam, Outlook and Microsoft Office

• BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management,  or related discipline preferred but not necessary

Must-Haves

• Must have at least five (5) years' experience In the structural steel Industry in similar role

• Must understand means and methods of the steel fabrication and steel erection process

• Must have construction experience
